You have to admit, it is an ingenious solution.
There is, of course, no reason for people to heap abuse on you just because you made a thread to pre-emptively disarm everybody. As long as you know there will be people waiting for you to be only as good as your last unpopular choice, then perhaps you'll be the very best mod HS has ever had.
Good luck.

I have no intention of making any choices at all for others here. I didn't ask to be a mod and have no intention of moderating anything. I trust that people can take care of themselves and can choose to read or not read whichever threads they want. If there ever is a need for someone to moderate I'm sure one of the others in the great cloud of moderators here will swoop in and save the day.

There’s a logical reason for the great cloud of moderators. By having so many, it insures one of them is around if something does happen. We’ve had incidents of spam bombing and at least one case of outing that needed to be dealt with; they were handled quickly because someone was available. So far, I’ve only used my moderator superpowers to slap a NSFW on one thread and to move another thread to the front page.

Lurker, I suppose?
Please do tell, leaving out the details!!! I missed all the real HS drama, I guess.

HS stands for "high street" and "high school", coincidentally enough

True, we're all irregulars and can at least hope there's no one person tracking all this rubbish. A moderator multitude should also curb the urges of any one dominating ajenda, becoming too easily annoyed by standard issue fucktardary and acting as the ministry of truthiness. Dare to say something stoopid.
We're shit disturbers, everyone of us, but bitch too loud, we make you a moderator. Everyone may have their price but welcome to one place where money barely whimpers.

Also, can someone tell me why when I hit "Compose Reply" I no longer have the Easy BBCode strips above the message box to help with posting?
*EDIT* but as I edit this post for a missing word there it is.

You didn't hit 'Compose Reply' or 'Quote' but instead employed the 'Quick Post' function, which lacks EasyBBcode because it's like, a quick post?

No it's happened to me a few times too. Trying again a couple of times seems to make things work. In fact I just quoted and de nada.

I was about to post a "No," but actually it's happening to me right now. (I clicked the "Compose Reply" link; I did not go to the empty white square at the bottom of the page.)

It's because this is a poll thread. Apparently the easy BBcode mod doesn't hook into this code. You'll also notice that when posting a reply, you don't see the recent posts below the text box like on normal threads.

Well, yeah . . . What did you think made you such an obvious choice as moderator?

Well, that, and the fact that we do occasionally discuss issues relevant to the site (No, seriously, we have). I've only had to "step in" once * (On an issue of copy-right infringment). As far as I know, Sofie has only taken action during a major bisquick spill (Which I was fortunate enough to have missed). So, yeah, we've a large number of administrators and moderators; But, considering their varied experiences, and the fact that we've a better chance of having one available at a moment's notice . . .
As long as no-body gets too over-zealous, I don't really see a problem. And, the only miss-step that I've witnessed (Granted: Only my opinion) was easily corrected.
* Post-Script: Whoops - Miss-Statement on my part there as I've all-so dealt with a bit of spam and a few spammers on occasion. Damn this piss-poor short-term memory!

I think WCL just wanted to bump up all of the polls. Wilber why don't you make a poll of your own???????

To quote what I said to Rodger on one of her polls:
…I think you should just have to deal with being an admin. Think of High-Street as the mixed race mongoloid crack baby you’re stuck with.
