So, just figured I'd give everyone who's siding with Nancy Grace on this one a little backstory about J-actionville for the uninitiated.
Jacksonville was once voted the worst place, IN THE WORLD, to pick up women by Playboy magazine. This is due to it's exceedingly low female to male ratio, and the fact that most of the women are already married (but that's never a barrier to a marine wife, lemme tell ya).
So you see things like when I was in middle school.... YES, middle school, a girl impregnated by her marine boyfriend. He was 26. And we're rednecky enough, her parents approved.
What happens here is that a lot of unattractive women get attention that is unwarranted, and that leads to a lot of crazy hijinks with ugly fat chicks who have image issues, are getting attention from penises, and are also hampered by their shameful views of sex based on their southern baptist or methodist upbringing. So they're all batshit crazy, in otherwords.
Why does this count in this case? Well, the sheriff, who I know personally and he's a really good guy as law enforcement folk go, gets TONS of rape allegations. Tons. And bunches and bunches of them are dropped due to the woman being batshit crazy, and basically using it to get back at some dumb marine who fucked her and then found a less ugly piece of Jacksonville trash to bang.
So when they get an allegation, and the girl's own MOTHER says, well, she's a liar and she's bipolar (plus other info I'll be sharing in a moment).... in the meantime Britney's holding her kids hostage so that's about the extent of what these cops know of bipolar disorder, you can see why they didn't just lynch the guy right there (but he's hispanic... we backwards rednecks don't lynch spics, we deport them).
The real problem is, and has always been, an internal problem in the Marine corps. There's a nickname for WM's (Women Marines).... they're called "Walking Mattresses." They are the only fit and somewhat attractive game in town (unless you drive up to Willywood, and then you've got me:) so they get even more attention than the ugly fat chicks. So they sleep around a lot. And the military is a mindfuck in itself. And WM's, even the good ones, are RARELY integrated or respected. Just the fact that she's a marine, she kept the baby, and she was in jacksonville doomed this poor girl to die. It killed her credibility.
So Nancy Grace needs to back the fuck off of my guy Sheriff Ed Brown. I've eaten BBQ with the man, he's a family friend, and like I said earlier, as law enforcement folks go he's a pretty good one (sorta the best you'll get in this area). Nancy needs to get her distended vagina in a bunch over the Marine corps JD, not the Onslow County Sheriff's Department.

Hi feisty!! That is one of the most succinct synopses of the Jacksonville Experience that I have ever run across.
Back in NC, when you read a headline like "Woman's Torso Found in Woods" (and you see such headlines more often than most outsiders would believe), you take bets with your friends on whether it happened in Jacksonville or Fayetteville. It's even money.
*sigh* Now I'm homesick...
P.S. I hate Nancy Grace with a fire of such ferocity that it is almost holy.

There is nothing, and I mean nothing on Tv that has made me lose faith in man more than the talk about legal arguments and procedures from Nancy Grace. Yeah this was back at the end of fall. Under full sail in heavy rip seas they had blown up their jibboom, stressed the upper stem members and racked their foretopmast up off rhode island. Their shipwright was in florida. By shipping both topmasts down to deck and running bald headed they could squeeze under the height limit to get down most of the intercoastal. As long as they made sure not to travel during the lowest tides so as to not to run aground.

Yeah, actually the point where she totally lost me was when she was interviewing one of the surviving victims of BTK Denis Rader. He HEARD his mother being raped and murdered, and the way she probed was just so HORRID>... right after that, she asked what's his name about how horrible it was to lost his daughter Jessica Lunsford and how guilty he felt.... and hwo guilty he SHOULD have felt.... so fucked up.
