No, it's Shirley Temple on the set of one of her lesser-known works, "The Bachelor, the Bobby-Soxer, and the Bedsores"

Wow.  Just wow.  Right after I read this looooooong article, I spent the morning in our first staff meeting of the year.  I needed a solid three hours of drudgery and micromanagement to clear my mind of the despair.

Honestly, Stupid People Should Not Breed.  Just because Hitler espoused eugenics, does not make it a bad idea.  We use jet engines, rockets, and VWs.   Sterilizing the horribly stupid is NOT a bad idea, boys and girls.  I humbly propose that when a parent is found to be negligent, that parent should be sterilized.  The same goes for rapists--I recognize that sterilization would not necessarily prevent the rapist from committing future sexual assaults, due to the deep-seated violent nature of the crime; but it would at least spare the victims from the awful choice of having to abort the horrid fruits of such events, a choice that puts many at odds with the norms of their spiritual community.  Having to interact with the youngest of our society, on a daily basis, acquaints me with the fact that not every child is considered a precious treasure by his or her parents.  In those cases, I have to consider that child a treasure, because someone must.  I only get to influence the children for 3-1/2 hours a day, 5 days a week, 9 months out of the year.  The rest of the time, for some of these little ones, is an unending parade of despair, abuse, and violence which thankfully the rest of us might never even have to so much as read about.  When I hear about an assumed "constitutional right" to breed, I just want to scream.  I spent 5 years of my life to prepare for the duty of educating these kids.  All it takes is complementary genitalia and a fleeting attraction to make them.

You will go crazy if you care about crotchfruits more than their egg and sperm donors do.  You need to realize that at least 75% of the population has no business reproducing and should be sterilized.  I’m sensing burnout issues and suggest you look at a career change.

Thanks for the "advice," fnord.  I appreciate it--I really do--but the annoyance actually keeps me going and has me redouble my efforts.  Despite the best efforts of our moronic President and the Republican dipshits doing their best at the federal, state, and local levels to dismantle my profession and move it wholesale into the realm of "education for profit," I remain committed to and deeply believe in providing the best education I can give to every child in my responsibility.  I am exactly where I belong.  Every so often, though, it bears repeating that we are social creatures, and what we do does not happen in a vacuum, and, like it or not, what we do for good or for ill, affects all the others.
