Fuck you AskMen.com.  I’ve had 2 of those jobs.

My brother did the canning fish in Alaska thing, and he will never eat canned salmon again. We burnt his clothes in a bonfire at the rager we had when he came home.

Bullshit. When you have washed out natural intestines for the sausage industry, you have done the nastiest job in the US. But it kept me in bud for a summer...

Yuh, me too, and I'm here to tell you there's worse. I may have mentally blocked out the grimmest but nothing ever sucked more ass than lab animal tech. Shoveling shit after the elephants was a close second, followed closely by pushing a broom in an electrolux plant and canning pickles. There's more but why bore myself all over again? There's no end of shitty jobs.

Oh the stories I (and most of us on here) could tell.  But this can't be true because Bush said Americans won't do those kind of jobs.

Burning human shit with diesel was the worst, just cuz it takes so fucking long.

I knew a guy in college who was a bull-semen-catcher during the summers.  Guy was massive, as you might guess--one of those human walls with no neck to speak of, but a really sweet young man.  He did not talk about it much, but I saw some film of the, um, "interventions" once on some cable channel and immediately realized why having a refrigerator build and no neck would be an advantage.

One of the worse I recall hearing about was a guy who was the night manager at a XXX theater.  The worse part of the job?  Well, after closing time he had to get a mop and clean the theater.

God love dishwashers. Our dishwashers are iron men who keep the kitchen running. They don't get paid nearly enough, it's true, but the other cook and I do what we can to make sure their job doesn't suck any more than it does. We also keep them well fed, on top of the standard free meal per shift. My job would seriously suck without them.
