Well there are plenty of Indians/part Indians who are not on any Tribal Registry.  DNA is often the only solution.

In the old days, the one-drop rule was also applied to Indians.  There is no way Indian ancestors would have been consistently listed as White.  I find it interesting that his personnel file makes it clear he was given tenure in spite of his lack of qualifications because of his alleged Indian ancestry.

Anyone with roots in the Southeast or lower Midwest has an Indian or two in the ancestral wood shed, including me.  However, if a person and his parents and grandparents have lived as white folk for generations, as has Churchill, it's simply fraud to steal a "special opportunity position" from a real Indian.  The guy is a fraud on so many levels that he should be run out of town, not given back his job.  The real Indians should be on the war path over this asshole.

I don't know if I am ready for the big top with all the swells. I think I will stay in the close confines of the sideshow for now.

I think Fnord should be as welcome as the next person. He's only a racist because he's working out his own longstanding neuroses on us (of which I have many, just not the same ones), and better on us than out in the world.

Churchill said, in the end, it's up to him whether to accept reinstatement if it is awarded.

He would first have to assess whether CU, which he said had "degenerated to a not very glorified vo-tec, a trade school" still met his standards.
