Well maybe not, what a price to pay. What's Ike got to do with it anyway?
Poor fool, You can't go home again, you now lack anything tribute worthy.
Speaking to the Daily Mail on Thursday, Arrington stated that he was trying to get his job back.
“I’m very sad and upset, and frankly devastated, and I have tried to reach out to higher-ups in the National Archives to basically say, I will do whatever it takes to reverse this,” he said.
The White House did not immediately respond to a request for comment from the AFP news agency.
The resignation of Arrington, who had a decades-long career in the federal government, comes as Trump asserts an unprecedented control over US cultural institutions since his return to office in January. He has conducted mass firings of multiple traditionally nonpartisan or bipartisan boards, with his own allies taking control.
According to CBS
A former Army general, Eisenhower possessed several swords, including a Sword of Honor given to him in 1947 by the city of London for his role as allied supreme commander during World War II, an honor saber gifted to him by the Netherlands in 1947, and his West Point officer saber.
First Lady Melania Trump personally decided which gifts to give King Charles and Queen Camilla, and wanted to bestow an Eisenhower sword to reiterate the significance of the U.S.-U.K. relationship since World War II, one of the sources said.
Officials at the State Department who compiled an array of gift options for the first lady sought an original sword, sources said. But Arrington argued against giving away an artifact that had been accepted as a donation and had become the property of the American people.
Arrington told officials he could help find an alternative gift, but sources say State Department officials persisted. The library's team offered to help find a replica.
Ultimately, West Point provided a faux version of Eisenhower's sword from the military academy.
The sabre was more than just a symbol of gratitude. Obviously, the liberation of The Netherlands by American forces (and indeed also Canadian and Polish) in May 1945 added a new layer to the already deep historical bond between the two countries. Wilhelmina’s gift harkened back to the existing ties, and, by celebrating the recent American sacrifice and valor, she helped to forge a lasting transatlantic bond of friendship between United States and The Netherlands. The sabre for Eisenhower, in that sense, symbolized the connection between two nations across the Atlantic in past and present, as well as in the future. Like the sabre itself, these connections were forged under pressure, particularly during and immediately after the war.

Donald should have won this round, America now has no honor so why should we have a Sword of Honor anymore?

He did win this round. He ferreted out one more disloyal government employee and made sure that man paid dearly for his anti-American agenda. The Trump will sleep well this night.
