'bout time too.
It's sad that nationally funded science organizations have failed to do this. My only concern is that commercial interests will fuck it up. Is this an Internationally protected site? It should be. We need treaties for globally unique locations like this... Cameron just doused it in hydraulic fluid.

The Titanic is a World Heritage Fund site. I think that prevents anyone from trafficking in artifacts from the wreck. But I don't think that there is any restriction on picking up stuff from the ooze around the ship it's self.
