Dude, you're doing it wrong. Don't use mountain-climbing rope. Too much stretch. In fact, use only natural fiber rope that has been stretched for at least a year with a suspended weight. Remember, also, to tuck the knot by the convict's ear so that the jerk at the end of the fall snaps his head around smartly, so as to cleanly break the neck.
