A state of red-headed stepchildren.

In 1992, Pennsylvania courts declared him the legal father of his wife's infant daughter even though he knew he was sterile, having had a vasectomy more than two years before the birth.

To the legal system, Spaid's inability to father children meant little when it came to determining who should be responsible for the child's care. In Pennsylvania, like most states, a ''presumption of paternity'' trumps everything...

Spaid, a laborer, was unaware of the presumption when he asked the court for a paternity test in 1992. So he was floored when Luzerne County Judge Chester Muroski denied his request and ordered him to pay his ex-wife $20 a week in child support -- an amount that would eventually rise to $71, more than half his take-home pay.

The kind of lu53r that would represent himself in court so shittily as to wind up losing half of that take-home pay to his slut ex-wife and her bastard offspring.  I feel bad for the guy.  He should've just killed them both, then he'd at least be assured of "three hots and a cot."  Of course, planning ahead is obviously not in his toolbox of life skills.

Yes, it's all thoroughly wretched, but the guy gets a gold star for recognizing that he was not likely to be able to provide for offspring and getting himself sterilized, apparently before he even married.  Not enough failures have that much self-awareness.  However, he was lax in not informing his brood sow of a wife - gotta wonder whether they even discussed birth control.
